Where the expectations come from
NDIS providers are regulated by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission and are expected to deliver supports safely, including managing infection risks. Providers turn that into their own policies, procedures and training requirements for workers.
What providers commonly ask for
- The free NDIS Worker Orientation Module (a separate requirement from the Commission).
- An NDIS Worker Screening Check for risk-assessed roles.
- Infection control and hand hygiene training, often at induction and as a refresher.
- PPE training for personal care.
Accredited or awareness training?
Requirements vary between providers and roles. Many accept awareness training for infection control; some ask for specific units. Ask your provider what they need.
