Rules and expectations
This is an infection control awareness course for cleaners, not a full cleaning qualification. Nationally recognised cleaning qualifications, such as the Certificate III in Cleaning Operations, are delivered by registered training organisations. Many employers and contracts ask cleaners for infection control training specifically, which is what this course covers.
What the course covers
Eight core modules — how infections spread, hand hygiene, PPE, respiratory hygiene, cleaning and disinfection, blood and body fluid spills, waste, linen and sharps, and precautions and outbreaks — plus a module written for your sector. Then a 20-question assessment and your certificate.
Questions
Is this a Certificate III in Cleaning?+
No. It is a non-accredited infection control awareness course for cleaners. It does not replace a nationally recognised cleaning qualification.
Will it help me get a cleaning job?+
Many cleaning roles in aged care, healthcare, schools and hotels ask about infection control. A certificate with a verifiable ID shows you already know the basics.
Is this an accredited course?+
No. It is a non-accredited infection control awareness course. It is not a nationally recognised qualification and is not HLTINF006 or any other unit of competency. If a licence, job advertisement or employer asks for a specific unit of competency, check before buying.
